Gen Bipin Rawat Indian Army Power | Rest in Peace Bipin Rawat Sir

Gen Bipin Rawat was an outstanding soldier. A true patriot, he greatly contributed to modernising our armed forces and security apparatus. His insights and perspectives on strategic matters were exceptional. His passing away has saddened me deeply. Om Shanti. Tragic news. Gen Rawat was a wise man, a brave soldier, a pioneer & a generous host to me only weeks ago. We mourn his death and that of his wife, and all killed in this terrible accident. I am shocked and anguished over the untimely demise of Gen. Bipin Rawat and his wife, Madhulika ji. The nation has lost one of its bravest sons. His four decades of selfless service to the motherland was marked by exceptional gallantry and heroism. My condolences to his family.

In October of last year while flying his Tejas WC Varun Singh suffered catastrophic cockpit pressurisation failure & total flight control systems bust. Undeterred, he landed his jet.

Today he is the lone survivor of the Mi17 crash. 1.4 billion are praying for him. He'll be fine.

Memories are all we have to tide over awful days. Here's one I will remember Gen Bipin Rawat by. He had gone to Dhamupur to unveil PVC Abdul Hamid's bust when he spotted the legend's widow Rasulan Bibi. He bowed and touched her feet. "You are the son we never had," she told him.

On June 4, 2015, NSCNK terrorists killed 18 of our Jawans. Just 5 days later, a man planned, steered, and executed a surgical strike deep across the Myanmar border. 102 terrorists were neutralised. We suffered 0 casualties. Zero. The man was General Bipin Rawat.

My thoughts & prayers are with the families of those who perished in the tragic helicopter crash in India.

May their souls rest in peace. General Bipin Rawat was a true leader & true friend of Israel. Much strength to @narendramodi & the Indian people at this difficult time.
